Q&A with Phoebe Greenacre of Wood + Luxe

By Jet Candy

Jet Candy caught up with Phoebe Greenacre, the founder of fitness and luxury travel blog Wood + Luxe, to find out her favourite place in the world, and what she uses to beat the drag of jet lag…

1)   Where is your all-time favourite place in the world and why?

This is such a hard question! I have so many places that I have fallen in love with. I love sailing around the Greek Islands in Summer, hiking in Germany in the Spring, skiing in Colorado in the Winter, and LA in Autumn.

2)   Where did you go on your most recent trip?

My most recent trip was down to East Sussex to stay at the Gallivant Hotel [read all about Phoebe’s trip to the Gallivant here].

3)   What is your best-hidden travel gem, and why?

I absolutely love hiking in Germany in the Berchtesgaden National Park region. I often take groups there on a hiking and yoga adventure as the scenery is just stunning! Fresh water rivers to swim in, and fresh air. [Read all about Phoebe’s hiking adventure here].

4)   Where is your ideal place for yoga and why?

Bali all the way. The energy in Bali is so strong and feminine. I try to go at least once a year and stay in Ubud.

5)   Which apps do you use when you travel?

I use XE.com for currency conversions, Google Maps, Google Translate (the one that can read menus for you) and Been (to track how much of the world I’ve visited).

6)   What are the most unusual amenities you have found in the hotels and spas you have been to?

Personal automatic cleaning toilets in Japan!

7)   What are your top tips for what to pack in your hand luggage?

Jet Candy, of course! And an eye mask, silicone ear plugs, noise cancelling earphones, compression socks (so you don’t get cankles!), wet wipes, facial oil and lip balm.

8)   As a travel blogger, what is your staple travel wardrobe?

I like natural fibres when I’m travelling – cottons, linens, and something that is breathable.

9) How do you avoid jet lag?

As soon as I get onto a long haul flight, I change my clocks to the time where I am heading to. That way, I can get on their time zone as soon as possible. I also try to fast on flights so I give my body a real chance to rest without digesting food. Taking Jet Candy before, on and after the day of travel helps to aid recovery too.
